EXTENDED STAY by WESTIN

PHOENIX
On July 26th 2006 Starwood presented the Extended Stay by WESTIN concept to select group all gathered at the Westin Kierland in Phoenix.
The occassion was the presentation of Starwood's exciting new "Extended Stay by Westin" concept combined with a presentation of the equally exciting "aloft" brand to a group of select developers and investors.
The proceedings commenced with a reception hosted by Steve Heyer, Starwood's CEO and was then followed the next day with a series of presentations on the brands. There were workshops created by Starwood Real Estate to provide the delegates with comprehensive data relating to the development of both brands.
At the invitation of Starwoods management the ASFONA President, John Shingler attended the event representing ASFONA. This was the first occassion for ASFONA to meet the new President of Starwood's Global Development Group, Rip Gellein.
On the moring of July 26th, John Shingler held a seperate meeting with Lynne Dougherty to obtain updates on ASFONA issues currently being worked on by Starwood and to convey additional areas that owners had brought to the attention of ASFONA.
